Pete's Dad Blog Thoughts on being a dad

Sharing

Olive's recently figured something out. She's observed the following facts:

  1. We very often give her bites of food from our plates.
  2. We very often give her some of her own food to eat.

From this, she's derived the following rule of behavior:

  • It is normal and appropriate to share your food with your family.

What this means is that in the last week or so, she's begun offering to share her own food. It's nothing dramatic; she just alternates between taking bites, and holding her food straight out toward one of us. We take a nibble, and then she does, and then she offers it again.

It's such a little thing, but it truly brings me joy to see her deriving behaviors like this.
