Five Months
The thing about Pumpkin is that he has been growing like mad, and gaining capabilities steadily. He can now both roll and yaw, and is working hard at getting control of his pitch. He's more or less figured out how his arms and hands work, in broad strokes at least, though sometimes he gets excited and just starts flapping. He's physically as large and as strong as he's ever been, and he's a giggly, happy child. There's still a lot in the world that he just doesn't understand, but he knows his family and he knows he is loved and that's good enough for him.
The thing about Olive is that she's growing at least as fast as her brother, just in different dimensions. She's memorized both the entire lyrics and the accompanying dance moves for Let It Go, Lone Digger, and a handful of other favorite songs, and she'll politely ask bystanders to be quiet while those songs play so that she can concentrate on singing along. It's been a while since she slid down the pole attached to her high bed, but she's recently demonstrated the ability to scale this sheer vertical wooden pole; after the first time, it's become a nightly occurrence, because she knows that her muscles grow the most when she challenges them. She can swim 3 meters without any floatation or assistance, and her teacher has suggested that it's time to move up to the next class. Even if her body is growing proportionately slower than her brother's, her capabilities seem to be growing even faster recently.
I haven't written much recently, and I do regret that, but interested parties should know that both kids are prospering, happy, and amazing.
